Joey Grimes

Joey Grimes is a Reno‑based jazz pianist, keyboardist, and educator whose Berklee‑trained versatility has made him a prominent voice in Northern Nevada’s jazz community. He performs regularly throughout the region, most notably with The Reno Jazz Trio—where he plays keys and key bass alongside Casey Smith and Adrian Rodriguez—and at popular local events such as Jazz Sundays at Midtown Wine Bar. Deeply committed to community engagement, Grimes serves on the board of For the Love of Jazz (FTLOJ), helping support and expand jazz education and performance opportunities across Reno. As an instructor with the Mountain Music Parlor Piano Teacher Program, he offers private lessons focused on theory, composition, improvisation, and building confidence in live performance, inspiring students of all ages to grow as creative musicians.
